Royal Ribbons

If ever any haberdashery deserved a royal title, VV Rouleaux would be the first in line! This wonderful shop is an establishment in Chelsea and Londoners  head here to find the widest variety of ribbons, feather, hair pieces and general 'pretty things'.

We love it. But that's not all because we can also exclusively reveal that also Miss Middleton loves it.
We have it on very reliable account that she has sourced some lovely silk ribbons from VV Rouleaux. Apparently to decorate the dining room.

That's our piece of exclusive Royal Wedding news people, you read it here first!

We hope you will enjoy the wonderful event that's anticipated for tomorrow and maybe get some party on at your local street. Here at Trisori we are totally impatient to see The Dress.

Have fun and be sparkling!
Your faithfully, xoxo The Eye

Italian with a London edge

As you may have picked up, the Trisori team are italian at heart with a strong liking for the London 'edge'. So.

As ever looking out for a fab piece of London fashion to share with you gals, I spotted a girl on the train to Paris wearing head to toe Chanel. Indeed. I was practising yoga breaths to get over the awe of seeing a 2.55 bag together with The Bicolor Ballerina all wrapped into one with an eye-popping Camelia ring.
Then I saw the piece which I though was most interesting: a rocking jeans jacket with 3/4 sleeves and chains. I assumed (silly me) it was also Chanel #blindingenvy until...

I saw this! It's our very own Kate modeling for Liu Jo, a fantastic brand of italian design doing what the italian high street does very well: tailored pieces at just above high street prices. We can't get enough of it.

Every fashionable girl should have some Chanel in her wardrobe.

OR at the very least something that looks like it could be Chanel.

This jacket works the latter with its je-ne-sais-quoi of chanelesque it could trick even the most observant of fashionistas (ahem).

Lots of love and sparkle to you all!
Yours faithfully, xoxo The Eye

Thanks are due to the Temple of Fashion that is Chanel, we adore thee.

Riding House Cafe Strides into Town

This month saw the launch of the Riding House Café in Great Titchfield St – the third venture from Clive and Adam – the duo behind Village East and The Garrison. It’s a one stop shop for whatever you fancy – a few drinks to unwind at the end of a long day, a lazy couple of glasses and a nibble or a full-blown delicious meal.

The interior is cool urban-looking space with a huge long table centrepiece flanked by rows of folding seats on both sides and additional tables up on a raised area at the back which faces a long gleaming bar. The staff are all super attentive and friendly – offering a fresh innovative menu ranging from small plates such as pork-veal sausages with lentils and artichoke crostini, to healthy super food and chopped salads to big dishes - including guinea fowl breast and chorizo hash browns with the king being the chateaubriand to share.

We tried a selection of small plates- which as it turned out are ‘small plates’! Poussin on chopped salad consisted of two skewers rather than a whole mini bird as we had expected but was deliciously seasoned and very succulent. The lamb chops with smoked aubergine was excellent although the chops could have done with a little more cooking to sear the fat. Smoked trout was perfection with rye bread (an unexpected bonus) crème fraiche & jalapeno whilst the classic squid and chorizo – was as ever, a winning combination. Pork belly was either too much fat or chewy meat, but all in all, it was tasty food, if a little rushed. Everyone else seemed to be taking advantage of the 50% off in April too and maybe squeezing this in during a lunch-break was a little ambitious! Go there next month and I’m sure they’ll have it down to a T!

Cross-dressing

Hi all,
As the royal wedding looms in 8 days we have had our dose of cutey romantic dressing, so I am focusing on this new trend of 'unisex' dressing. Still, I will be glued to the tv next Friday to see all the hats, dresses and accessories!!!

Back to mannish styling. I make a point of favouring feminine, sensual clothing over scruffy boyishness. However there is such a thing as achieving a sexy look wearing men's clothes.

My essentials in this dress code would have to be:
- A white shirt. Men's shirts are a) cheaper and b) better quality. Head to Brooks Brothers for a crisp style or choose the high street which offers plenty of choice. Personal favourite du jour has to be the simple Next one, yours for 22£. Nip in at waist with a tan belt.
- Man's cachemire jumper. Well in this case maybe not cheaper than our female range but far cooler, think Jane Birkin on a bateau-mouche traveling down the Seine *sigh*. I especially like men's cardis for layering over skinny jeans or for a chilly summer evening over a pretty floral dress.

Also my recent discovery is to look in the children's ranges for trendy jackets that will work the cool preppy look. See Stella McCartney for Gap and the likes.

Wishing you all a happy easter break and may the sun shine where you are.

Your faithfully,
xoxo The Eye

Trisori in the News

The Trisori team are all very excited about featuring in the wonderful Grazia UK magazine!

Thanks to Grazia UK for the great styling, we *do* look forward to Tuesdays and you really made this week extra special for us. Yay.

And that's not all folks: Trisori also came out a winner in the Treasure competition, securing a stand at the prestigious jewellery fair.

http://www.professionaljeweller.com/article-9308-treasure-competition-2011-winners-revealed/

Yay again. But mainly THANKS to all of those who voted for Trisori and congratulations to the lucky winner of the skull bracelet...I can just see you rocking that with a maxi dress this summer!

After all this excitement we are all set to embrace the lovely sunny weather and we can't wait to reveal our new collections to our growing community of friends.

Love to all and may the sparkle be with you :)

Biker Fever

A whole chapter in fashion history could be written about Biker Jackets. Especially in the last 5 years when everyone and anyone seems to be flaunting secret brands and new styles (Jitrois being the most established secret).

I am particularly fond of the stylish ones by Joseph and the likes but I am also eyeing the newly launched IRO available on www.my-wardrobe.com and fashioned by Elle thebody Macpherson. Now *that* is the kind of endorsement we like.

I have been thinking about the biker issue for a while and ultimately this is the lowdown I got on what is cool right now:
- Quilted, as seen at Burberry but can be found at Next, Asos and Reiss
- Traditional, most brands are not re-inventing but re-interpreting: see Isabel Marant for a lesson on this
- Embellished, not my favourite but the trend is catching. We’ve seen lots of spikes and other glittery/silvery applications at Burberry and Balmain. Fashion is nothing if not bold :)

After much searching I have a winner: an investment buy from Paul & Joe Sister, ever the nonchalant French elegance that adds that je ne sais quoi to my bulging wardrobe.
The fiance is understanding, if slightly amazed, by the shrinking of his allocated spaces. I really needed it.

All for now folks, have yourselves a lovely start to the week and rock those bikers like you just don’t care!

Your faithfully,
xoxo The Eye

WHEN IN FLORENCE…

Nothing is more exciting than a shop that offers Balmain, Lanvin, J Brand and many more all under one roof….AND you can buy on-line!
If you happen to be in Florence, Luisa Via Roma is The shop to visit – ditch the cultural attractions packed with tourists for an hour of pure fashion heaven. Think of it like this: it’s on a par with the Uffizi with its gorgeous design and many pieces of art all rolled into one.
You might actually give in to temptation and buy something truly spectacular…start thinking of that excuse for your mother/partner/colleague…”What, this old thing? I’ve had it for aaaages” ;)

In case you can’t get out there, the web-site is just as good and has great discounts pretty much all year round: www.luisaviaroma.com

Nuts for Mango

Fashion is having a real thing with sheer shirts, we’ve seen the Equipment ones everywhere and in all their colours. They are gorgeous but I am all over the ones in the Mango collection.

Aside from the shirts, Mango has produced a great season: the colours are totally inspiring with nudes and sheer textiles, also I am loving the bold statement dresses and colour-blocking. They complement Trisori jewels very well *cheeky hint*!

I really like these two shirts:

They both work wonders with a skinny jean combo, with tailored capri pants or even for work a glam look with a suit.
Currently reduced to 20£ and 14£ in the Asos mid-season sale.

Yours faithfully,
xoxo The Eye

Pleats Please!

How to ‘do’ the long skirt this season? Easy, head to American Apparel – with so much on offer in shops and mags I was confused.
After seeing this gem, though, I know what I will be rocking. The ‘Accordion-Pleated’ skirt by AA is ticking nearly all of this season’s boxes:
1) it’s long,
2) it’s pleated
AND
3) it comes in 3 of the season’s most wanted colours: Cobalt blue, Pumpkin apricot and Almondine pink.
Oh and it also comes in a shorter version if you fancy showing some leg.
What more can you want from a skirt??

It has already sold out online in the UK and in the shops, join the queue as I am waiting for mine in Pumpkin and Almondine. I will wear mine with a simple body as seen at Lanvin, with a tan belt and with high platform sandals for evening or flat glads for the day.

Yours faithfully,
xoxo The Eye

Too cool for school

We are having a maxi bag-crush on these traditional satchels, 100% made in Britain and super stylish.
They have been spotted on fashion bloggers, in magazines (Vogue, Elle and Grazia) and around town in London. Fashionistas are spoilt for choice: go for the 11’’ – 28cm size for a day-to-evening bag as seen at Celine s/s 2010 (without the hefty price tag!), or opt for the larger models that come in 13’’ – 33cm or 14’’ – 35 cm and 15’’ – 38cm.

The colours range from classic tan, black, green and navy. We are loving the more vibrant purple, red, yellow and finally the fluos which are a must for this season’s bright colour combinations!
I am waiting for my 15’’ yellow batchel (ie. Satchel with a handle on top) with my initials embossed *sighs* oh the joy of the wait.

Get one at http://www.cambridgesatchel.co.uk/ prices 74£ - 93£, you know you *need* it.
Yours faithfully, xoxo The Eye

As the sun starts shining outside it’s high time to be showing some leg (and more!), but let’s face it a bit of toning wouldn’t hurt J

Lessons run from 6:30am (for the *really* motivated gals out there) and through to evening with the last one starting at 8:30pm.
