Being part of a growing brand - Trisori jewellery at Belle Sauvage LFW 2011

With London Fashion Week now over, I have to be honest and say I breathed a long sigh of relief. Truth be told, my passion is writing first and foremost regardless of the subject matter. The chaotic, frenetic and competitive world of fashion does not always sit well with the quiet solitude of writing and after going from show to show I am eager to get back into my own world where words not waistlines rule. Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful things, fashion and styling but I tend to go my own way and like what works for me, whether it's the latest trend or not. And, unlike most of the fashion-conscious at LFW, comfort comes first for me. If I'm not comfortable, you won't get me anywhere near an item of clothing, no matter how fabulous everyone says it is.

Despite that, my first foray into London Fashion Week was definitely eye-opening, inspiring and exciting particularly seeing it through the eyes of the Trisori designer. Without a doubt, the highlight of LFW for the designer and the rest of us working with Trisori, was experiencing the Trisori jewellery collection artfully draped over models coming down the catwalk at the Belle Sauvage A/W 2011 show at LFW and seeing the resulting press the next day in everything from the Metro to Vogue. It's unbelievably fascinating being involved with a relatively new brand and watching the excitement and buzz surrounding Trisori as it begins to find it's own place in the world of fashion and accessories. What can I say, to me there's no enjoyment in working for something that's already made a name for itself; all my passion comes from being a part of something new and watching it grow into something great.
Keep an eye on this space, there's definitely a lot more to come...

LFW - Ashley Isham A/W 2011 collection

Experiencing Ashley Isham's A/W 2011 show began in the bitter cold outside the show venue, Mercer Street Studios. Once inside and de-thawed, the excitement was palpable as fashion pundits speculated over what this celebrity-favoured designer had to offer with his A/W collection. Known for his dramatic and inventive contemporary collections, Ashley Isham has won himself an army of followers devoted to his unique styling including Florence Welch, Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole, Erin O'Connor and Lady Gaga, to name but a few, all of whom have turned to Ashley for statement red-carpet glamour.

Arriving in London in 1996 from his native Singapore, Ashley debuted at LFW in November 2000 and has continued to show at LFW each season. This year Ashley did not disappoint in delivering what he has become most famous for; creating pieces of pure spectacle and indulgence. Clearly influenced by his upbringing in Singapore, Ashley has an ability to merge East and West with successful results. While the chopsticks in the hair and tulle flower headdresses may not make it onto the high-street (unless your Lady Gaga) his dresses certainly made an impact and would not be out of place on any red carpet. Embellished draped jersey and structured print and lace-overlay dresses made up the majority of his collection and will without a doubt be highly coveted by the fashion-forward along with his loyal celebrity following. His front row was certainly one to be proud of with Kimberley Walsh and Paloma Faith showing their support to name but a few. See the girls, his collection and Ashley himself captured on my trusty Canon (official sponsors of LFW) and iPhone 4 right here:

LFW - Bora Aksu A/W 2011 collection

London Fashion Week 2011 kicked off in full force on Friday with the Bora Aksu A/W 2011 collection. For the LFW virgins among you, Bora Aksu is a London-based Turkish designer who graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martins MA course in 2002 and quickly became 'one to watch'. Even Domencio Dolce and Stephano Gabbana purchased items from his shows for inspiration. His Autumn/Winter 2011 collection did not disappoint, with a nod towards the darker side of Victorian London and Sweeney Todd-esque designs. Playing with fabrics and textures and a predominantly grey and black palette, his collection expertly combined layering and tailoring in a variety of materials, using stiff fabrics like leather and wool with softer fabrics like sheer chiffon to create dark and edgy pieces to dramatic and theatrical effect.

With over 10 shows under his belt, Bora's collaborations and projects with various artists continues and he remains a designer worthy of London Fashion Week. He has also displayed an interest in social responsibility by signing a contract with People Tree-Fair trade organisation to design an exclusive capsule collections to raise an awareness on fair trade work shops.

And, like everything else these days and never more so than in fashion, where there are celebrities, everyone else follows. With a impressive front row that included Twiggy, singer Maria Diamandis from Marina and the Diamonds and Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts it's clear that Bora Aksu isn't losing his fashion kudos anytime soon.

Pure London

First and foremost, I should say Happy Valentine's Day! With that out of the way, the next item on the agenda is Pure London. Over the weekend, today and tomorrow, Trisori is showcasing it's latest collection at Pure London the UK's largest fashion trade event. With hundreds of designers displaying their wares from apparel to accessories it's the perfect place to find up-and-coming designers before London Fashion Week gets under way. Trisori jewelery was also included in the fashion shows and it was a fantastic opportunity to see Trisori jewelery on a runway.

The perfect pairing for Valentine's Day!

The Trisori team have been working around the clock to prepare for Pure London (the UK's leading trade fashion event at Earl's Court exhibition centre) and London Fashion Week. It's hectic and exciting all at the same time but despite our over-flowing schedules we are very aware of an important day that's just around the corner...

Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year and whilst I will be the first to admit that Mondays do not usually make me think of love, romance or passion, we at Trisori have a couple of ideas to get you all in the mood. When I think of Valentine's Day, two fashion items leap to the forefront of my mind; jewellery and lingerie. The former, for romance, the latter, for passion and when combined I'm sure you would agree that we have ourselves some serious chemistry. Which is why myself and our Trisori designer are off to attend the Valentine's Day event at The Lingerie Collective tomorrow evening.

The Lingerie Collective is a group of independent UK and international lingerie designers with a shared passion for exquisite lingerie, hosiery and accessories. They have recently opened their newest pop-up boutique in Ganton Street and to celebrate they are opening their doors and hosting an exclusive ladies evening from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow evening.

With discounts on all designer lingerie brands, a champagne reception, seduction lessons, pampering and a whole host of other treats on offer we thought it was important for us to head on over, show our support and conduct some very important research. The lure of champagne and the prospect of discounts on fabulous brands such as Dirty Pretty Things, Chantal Thomas, Lascivious and Wundervoll obviously has nothing to do with it at all! We're just a very dedicated team here at Trisori.

And because we think it's important to share our love of fashion, we've made sure all of you can attend too:

Click on the website link at the top right of this page or send him a 'subtle' hint and copy and paste our website www.trisori.com to him in an email! Fortune favours the bold....
