Trisori at Elton John ball!

And there it was again: lovely crowd of celebrities and less known people, beautiful dresses, White smiles, amazing accessories and Trisori.

Eccentric Elton John did it again: the White tiara ball 2011.

Again, two celebrities graced us with the most exquisite choice.
Naomie Harris of Pirates of the Caribbean and Ruth Wilson of Luther , both chose to wear Trisori.

Naomie wore our 7 dials earrings with a lovely wine red dress while Ruth rocked our hard rock ring with a total black look. Jewellery and British Glamour. That's what we like.

Watch this space for more celebrities to come.

Love, Trisori

Most Swallow, few spit

In leafy Putney, the Star & Garter along the river organises sporadic tastings during the week to better your knowledge of worldwide wines. Having been done up not too long ago in the archetypal refurb complete with patterned wallpaper, the pub is spacious yet cosy, boasting a special private room befitting for wine tasting as well a resplendent cheese room, providing the snack half way through.

Run by the very knowledgeable Assistant Manager and Sommelier Michael Monte, sessions are interactive yet informative as well as relevant to the time of year. Starting off by introducing you to the palate and the tastes we are capable of, he guides you through the theme of the tasting organising each one in a different way so you will never tire of attending!

Summer wines commenced with a brainstorm of what summer means – barbeques, rosé, picnics, sun (well hopefully it is England after all!) etc and so wines were matched to these. Each one was a blind tasting where we all commented on colour, nose and taste – comprising body, acidity, alcohol and tannin levels before coming to flavour. Finally you had to guess the grape, the wine and the country region – no mean feat! My friend Hannah became known as ‘alcohol girl’ pretty much guessing the correct level each time.

Personally I think the session gets harder as you get through unless you’re a spitter and retain your full palate and don’t pig out on the plethora of cheeses! It’s very good value at £15 for most and for suggestions fill in the questionnaire at the end. If you fancy something else to eat, the menu has now been extended to main courses and there is a great array of sharing platters.

Seal it with a kiss, Britney

I have been following her around for a decade now. When she first entered the music scene, it took me a while to understand why she was performing in a skimpy outfit dancing around like a school girl. She was a predecessor of today's routine where music joins dancing in a sexy outcome. She was Britney, the one and only.
When I read about her new album "Femme Fatale", I was a bit skeptical about her come back. Has she fully recovered? We are talking about a girl that went straight to hell and back...

After listing at her album, I have to say I am not overwhelmed.
I remember how much I loved this:

The new album is a bit disappointing for me and this song below is not nearly as good as the old Britney

We wish her a full recovery soon because we are a bit in love with the idea of this naughty school girl... still.

Give us a sign, Britney, hit us baby one more time.

Head for the music...

For all those lucky ones out there who have managed to secure tickets to Hyde Park, Glasto, any other music festival. I am officially envious!

But given that green envy doesn't go well with my complexion I'll get over it. Here's the thing ladies: I don't actually think I would survive at a festival..the camping, the toilets (if any), all that mud! But hey I am rock *and* roll. Inside, very deep inside.

Not having ever been to a festival I have, however, thought of the perfect outfit which would revolve around something like this yellow raincoat from Asos...

Accompanied by short jeans (boyfriend style), hunter boots and a tank top. Must-have accessory for all of that to work would have to be a long necklace and some bangles...done!

Ready to go. Yeah well, you know what I mean...

Enjoy the music you rockers!

Yours Faithfully

Neglected

Now I know I've already told you how much I love beauty products and make up, but I haven't told you that in my skincare cabinet you will not find two products from the same brand. I don't like buying sets of things. I prefer testing and probing every product and choosing things that I like from different places.

I usually find random little things that not many people use or know about. One of these products that I have discovered is a Honey and Almond Scrub from Repechage. I have been fascinated with it for a while.
It can be used as both a scrub and a mask - either wet the skin slightly and massage it with the scrub; or add a teaspoon of yoghurt into the scrub and apply it to the face and decolletage in a massaging motion and keep it on for 10-15 minutes. It will help clear off the upper layer of skin either way to reveal a refreshed new complexion.

The brand has a whole range of products for the face and the body, available at Depilex Epilight Clinic, 45-47 Wigmore Street.

Marina,

Enjoy!xx

To hat or to fascinate?

THAT is the question!

So with Ascot and several other horsy events just gone by, the lingering question remains: what is more fashionably 'cool', the hat or the fascinator??

We would like to hear your views...I am personally curious to know what you fashionable girls think so drop a line with your thoughts!

For me the fascinator has a whole lotta charms: it's less bulky than a hat, adds va-va-voom to the one side of the head and generally goes better with statement jewellery.

Whiteleys Fascinator from John Lewis 39£

Then again, the hat is an evergreen...classic, simple, it can add charm to the plainest outfit...remember how Audrey Hepburn completed all her outfits with amazing, classy hats?

Well, readers, you have the final word but for me I think it will have to be a fascinator...as always I believe in the 'less is more' rule, just like our Duchess of Cambridge seen sporting a cream fascinator...

Yours faithfully,
xoxo The Eye

86 artworks

Trendy converted Georgian Townhouse 86, a bar and restaurant along Fulham Rd, home to many of Ch4’s Made in Chelsea posse, has purchased some semi-risqué artwork to hang on the first floor walls by award-winning and renowned photographer Bob Carlos Clarke.

Perhaps more eye-candy for the boys, the photography features women in various forms of black leather –sometimes partly morphed into animal parts like fins in striking black and white prints. They’ve chosen the less provocative of the bunch though...more of his prints and advertising campaigns can be seen at http://www.bobcarlosclarke.co.uk/slideshow.htm

The prints are collectors’ items given that Bob Carlos Clarke sadly passed away in 2006. A few more are on display at the Little Black Gallery.

86 also has a fantastic collection of Charlotte Cory works in the restaurant on the first floor which play with Victorian images from calling cards and post-darwinian 19th century animals. A personal favourite of mine.

Worth a visit at any rate if not for the art, to enjoy drinks from the inspiring wine list or dishes from Mark Broadbent's menu. Oh and there's also a private room for events BTW.
